Women & Country


The new Jakob Dylan comes out in a couple of weeks time, but it hit the net over the Easter weekend.  I wasn't too wowed on my first listen, but having just given it a second virtual spin, I really like the album.

It's got a different feel from his first solo album, in fact it sounds more like early Wallflowers work than his last solo effort.  This could have something to do with a change of producer.  On his first solo LP Jakob had Rick Rubin producing, but for 'Women &Country' he has T Bone Burnett behind the desk, who also produced 'Bringing Down The Horse', the second Wallflowers album.

The record has a range of styles, many new to Jakob, but still manage to keep the same laid back and warm feel that we've come to know from him.  You can stream the album in it's entirety here:
